Bio: Academic qualification: • 1977: Finished high school from St. Georges College, Mussoorie, India • 1985: MBBS from Indira Gandhi Medical College 1985 and one year compulsory internship in 1986 and one year elective residency in Internal Medicine and Dermatology, Shimla, India • 1997: MPH from Bloomberg School of Public Health, Johns Hopkins University, USA Apart from the above academic qualifications, he successfully pursued professional programs in Dermatology & Sexually Tranmitted Diseases, Marketing Management, Biostatistics & Data Management and Web Based Computing Job Profile: Since 1987, working in the Tibetan community in various capacities. Current assignment: May 2015: TB Program Manager August 2015: Additional charge of Public Health Division Interest and Activities: Special interest in health information system and research for decision making. Looking at how to reduce the current Chronic Hepatitis Prevelance rate among Tibetans in India estimated at 9% - 10% to less than 1% eventually (all Tibetan refugees). Try to understand and address the challegening TB situation by looking at not only the bio-medical issues, but also socio-cultural, economic and other non-biomedical determinatns of TB.
