World Health Day

World health day was observed on 7th April 2025 and the theme this year focuses on Maternal and newborn health. Most of the Tibetan health centers observed the day with events aimed to raise awareness about maternal and child health, which included important topics such as: Emphasizing the need of family support during pregnancy and after childbirth to ensure safe motherhood, Mental health challenges arising from hormonal changes during pregnancy and postpartum, Sessions on birth spacing between pregnancies’, Family planning options as well as tips on maintaining healthy lifestyle, including diet, exercise, and stress management, and Success stories of parents. More than 117 individuals participated.

While some health facilities observed the day to highlight other issues affecting health. Which included environment cleanliness drives, RBS and Blood pressure screening for NCD, Correct handwashing demonstrations in primary school, Self-retreats involving activities such as hiking, happy circle session, and group discussions for students and adults (38 beneficiaries), Health camp in collaboration with local hospitals (15 beneficiaries).

With sincere efforts of the settlement health team, the day concluded successfully with raised awareness on Maternal and child health care, as well as other growing health challenges.
