Tibetan settlements across India marked World AIDS Day on 1 December with HIV/AIDS awareness programs focusing on prevention, stigma reduction, healthy living, and the importance of early treatment and adherence.
To mark the day, settlement health care providers initiated numerous activities which included, Gorshey, awareness talks, Free HIV tests and condom distribution. In some areas, community took part in the host government’s initiatives such as marathon.
These initiative highlights the global HIV/AIDS threat and reinforce prevention & awareness on HIV/AIDS as well as dispel myths and stigma around it.
