Winners of the Healthy Veg-Recipe Contest for the Nutritional Week announced

The eight entries received.

Dharamsala: For this year’s nutritional week 1st to 7th September 2021, the Health Education Desk of the Department of Health, CTA, conducted “Healthy Veg-Recipe Contest” by announcing it through social media handles of the department. The last date of entry was August 31st 2021 and the desk received eight entries for the contest. The objective of the contest is to promote healthy recipe and thus healthier diets in our Tibetan community. As Healthy diet is a vital aspect of healthy lifestyle as we can bring positive change in our life by focusing on our lifestyle. The entries were “1 Nasi Goreng , 2 Gobi Manchurian, 3 Kyu, 4 Carrot with green beans, 5 Fiddle head ferns, 6 Dropopri, 7 Mattar Paneer, 8 Quinoa Rice ”

Before the declaration of the winners we posted the entries in our social media and asked the people to comment on the posts to have an inclusive and participative approach to the campaign. With that approach, it would be safe to claim that we received relatively good number of responses. On receiving the entries, we requested a professional nutritionist with a background of Msc in Food and Nutrition in Public Health to weigh the dishes and declare the winners.  The top three dishes are

1 KYU prepared by Tenzin Menkyi,  

2 NASI GORENG prepared by Kelsang Gyatso

3 DROPORI prepared by Tsering Norphel

The 1st prize winner will receive 5000 INR, second 4500 INR and the third  4000 INR. In addition, five consolation prizes will be awarded.
