Under the departments WASH program which is funded by the PRM, The key activities highlight awareness on basic sanitation and hygiene in the Tibetan communities, as well as provision of access to safe drinking water, and construction/renovation of sanitation infrastructure. Through these continuous efforts the departments ensures safety and wellbeing of Tibetans especially the vulnerable population through the Tibetan settlement offices and health centers of the Central Tibetan Administration. Amongst numerous WASH activities, the department has successfully completed construction and renovation of 11 toilets and renovation of one over head tank in South and central Tibetan settlements, which are as following with few Before & After pictures.
Mundgod: 9 new toilets and 3 renovations
Bhandara: 1 new toilet and 2 renovations
Bylakuppe: 1 new toilet and renovation of the village’s overhead tank
The construction and renovation of these facilities, including the overhead tank, were possible with the generous support from the United States Government through the Department.
