Two-Day Integration Committee Meeting Held in Dharamshala

Dharamshala: A two-day Integration Committee Meeting was recently held by the Department of Health at the Tibetan Medical and Astrological Institute (TMAI) in Dharamshala on September 15th and 16th.

Additional Secretary of Health attended the inaugural meeting which had participants from ten settlements. At the meeting, there were two representatives from each of the ten sub-committees and section heads from the Department of Health. They discussed the Integration guidelines that emphasize disease prevention, preventive healthcare, and non-communicable diseases. Additionally, the participants talked about ways to enhance the knowledge of professionals and charted out five proposals related to health projects and medicine.

On the last day, Dr Tseten Dorjee Sadutsang, personal physician of His Holiness the Dalai Lama gave an elaborate presentation on the topic “Guide to Practice of Healing”. Mr Dawa Tsultrim the secretary of the Department of health gave a closing remarks stating that everyone must work towards reinforcing the strategies laid out in the meeting. He answered queries and clarified doubts raised by the participants. Following the completion of the meeting, the participants were taken on a tour of Mentsee Khang, Delek Hospital and the Health Department.
There were a total 20 participants in the meeting and the program was funded by USAID.
