The Department of Health, CTA welcomed Dr. Detlef Reschke, Executive board member of GAT

22nd October 2024, The Department of Health welcomed Dr. Detlef Reschke, Executive board member of GAT (German Aid to Tibetans), and his family on their first visit to the Department. The Health Secretary briefed Dr. Reschke on the department’s array of initiatives related to health promotion and disease prevention across Tibetan settlements in India and Nepal. Current year updates on GAT-funded projects were also highlighted. The meeting was attended by Mr. Jampa Phuntsok, Health Secretary as well as zone leaders and division heads of the department. Following the meeting Dr. Reschke was accompanied by the Secretary and 2 project officers to the newly renovated Basket ball ground of Gangchen kyisong which was funded by GAT. The department wished Dr. Reschke the very best by honoring him with a memento and a traditional Tibetan scarf. GAT’s persistent support for building a robust Tibetan community in exile is a legacy, and we look forward to continued assistance and future collaborations in the years ahead.
