Sonada Settlement Officer Inaugurates Telemedicine Services in Sonada

Sonada: On January 8, 2024, Sonada settlement officer Pema Tsering officially opened the fifth facility for the Telemedicine services. After a ribbon-cutting ceremony, a public awareness talk about how patients can use telemedicine services was held. Telemedicine programme places a strong emphasis on offering an easy access clinical services in the most practical way possible through the use of electronic devices including phones, laptops, and video conferencing. Patients can schedule appointments, contact doctors, and get prescriptions filled. It makes health care more accessible to the general public, particularly in rural areas where access to distant hospitals is required. Four prior settlements, including Miao, Bhandara, Ravangla, and Tenzingang, are currently conducting telemedicine services.

The program was funded by the United States Department of State, Bureau of Population, Refugees, and Migration (PRM).
