Rural Health Outreach Workshop at Jamkhed

In continuation of the first comprehensive rural health outreach workshop organised in Jamkhed by Department of health in July, the second batch comprising of Health Kalon Mr Choekyong Wangchuk accompanied by Health Secretary, Joint Secretary and Public Health Coordinator with hospital executive secretaries from 7 hospital attended the workshop from 28 to 30 August 2016.

During their stay, they were introduced to community outreach and social mapping, data collection, monitoring and evaluation of rural health programs, and behavioral change communication among others. They were also taken on field-visits to the villages to get exposure to rural health project implementation and community outreach technique.

The comprehensive rural health project at Jamkhed has been a renowned entity on providing health services to rural communities and has received many national and International level awards in recognition of its excellent health coverage to remote and vulnerable section of communities in Maharastra.

This workshop is organized by DOH in consultation with the project experts and is funded by USAID.
