On June 19, 2023, the Department of Health initiated a one-month basic common health training programme at TPHC Dekyiling for monks from Northeastern settlements like Kalimpong, Darjeeling, and Gangtok. Five monks are taking part in this programme, which is being overseen by Dr. Wangdak, head nurse Tsering Dickyi and physical therapist Tenzin Yega.
