Health Secretary’s official visit to South settlements began with Mundgod

December 28 2024, Health secretary Mr. Jampa Phuntsok embarked his first official visit to south Tibetan settlements with Mundgod. Accompanied by one of the department’s settlement coordinator, he is on an official tour to southern Tibetan health facilities for supervising the Ngoenga school expansion project in Hunsur and meeting with the health workforce teams located in the settlement. During his two-day official visit, he met with the DTR hospital’s health workforce, the local TMAI staff, and the hospital administrators of Gaden Shartse, Gaden Jangtse, Loselling, and Gomang monastery. While in Ganden Shartse, health secretary and Shartse Khen Rinpoche inaugurated the newly installed X-Ray machine at their hospital. Mr. Jampa also visited other active project sites before concluding his official tour with a visit to the settlement’s OPH, where he interacted with staff and resident elders. His next visit is scheduled for Hunsur Tibetan settlement.
