Dharamsala: The Health Secretary, Mr. Jampa Phuntsok, Department of Health, Central Tibetan Administration (CTA), paid a courtesy call on Dr. Omesh Kumar Bharti, the newly appointed Chief Medical Officer (CMO) of Kangra, on 1 September 2026.
Dr. Omesh Kumar Bharti is a distinguished public health professional and a Padma Shri awardee (2019) in the field of Medicine. He has made significant contributions to rabies prevention and affordable post-exposure treatment for dog-bite cases. His pioneering work helped make rabies treatment more cost-effective and accessible.
The Department of Health, Central Tibetan Administration, extends its warm congratulations to Dr. Omesh Kumar Bharti on his appointment as the Chief Medical Officer of Kangra and wishes him a successful and impactful tenure. The Department also looks forward to exploring opportunities for greater collaboration and cooperation in the fields of public health and healthcare services during his tenure.
