DELHI: Kalon Choekyong Wangchuk of the Department of Health and the department’s senior officials visited the John Hopkins Program for International Education in Gynecology and Obstetrics (JHPIEGO) based in Okhla, New Delhi on 21 August 2019.

The purpose of the meeting was to understand more about the program implementation of JHPIEGO and future collaboration between the Health Department and JHPIEGO.

Dr. Bulbul Sood, Country Director of JHPIEGO, introduced various works done by them and the possible area of collaboration between the two parties. The areas discussed during the meeting were RMNCH+A, HRD strengthening the quality of nursing pre/in services, adolescence health and non-communicable diseases.

During the meeting, ASMAN apps were also demonstrated to the DoHe officials.

Later in the evening, Health Kalon Choekyong Wangchuk of Department of Health, CTA will be leaving for an official tour to New York, Washington DC, and North California to meet with the staff and members of various US offices and organisations on Wednesday.

Kalon will be particularly attending the 18th North America Tibetan Association (NATA) conference during the visit.

He is scheduled to return to Dharamshala on 10 September.
