Health Kalon Pema Tso Reviews Healthcare Service and Community Welfare in Mundgod

Dharamshala, 27 October 2026: Health Kalon Pema Tso of the Department of Health, Central Tibetan Administration, commenced an official inspection tour of South Indian Tibetan communities with a visit to Mundgod Doeguling Tibetan Settlement on 27 October.

During the visit, she inspected health facilities, monastic clinics, schools, old-age homes, and institutions serving vulnerable groups. At the local health center, she reviewed operations, met staff, and discussed measures to strengthen healthcare services through closer coordination between the Department of Health and settlement administrations.

Kalon Pema Tso emphasized support for destitute elderly individuals and chronically ill youth, the importance of public health education and disease prevention, and the need for accurate health data to support future planning. She also directed settlements to maintain and submit detailed records of water tanks under the Department’s water and sanitation programme.

The visit concluded with an inspection of the proposed site for a new local clinic. Her South India tour will continue to Tibetan settlements in Kollegal, Hunsur, and Bylakuppe, followed by visits to health centers and monastic healthcare facilities across India through 11 November 2026.
