Health Department Organises Women’s Basic Healthcare Workshop

The Department of Health, CTA is organising a two-day Women’s basic healthcare workshop for the newly arrived women from Tibet at the Tibetan Transit School, Dharamshala.

The workshop is being attended by 19 women participants between the age of 15 to 25.

The purpose of the workshop is to create awareness and heighten participants’ knowledge on women’s health, basic hygiene and other chronic diseases prevalent in our community.

The two-day workshop will cover topics including Tuberculosis, Hepatitis B, HIV/AIDS and other emerging issues like Mental health, Cancer, and Women Empowerment.

All the speakers are professionals from Mentsee khang, Delek Hospital, Library of Tibetan works and Archives, and the Central Tibetan Administration.

The opening speech was delivered by the Health secretary, Tsegyal Chukya Dranyi. Secretary Chukya Dranyi gave an overview of the two-day program and urged the participants to be more cautious with their overall health. He concluded his remarks
