Department of Health, CTA successfully concluded the Women’s basic health care workshop at TCV School Suja. The 2-day workshop was organized from 27th July to 28th July 2018. It was attended by thirty female students from grade 10.
The 2-day workshop covered topics like Women’s basic hygiene, Common Cancer in Women, Hepatitis B, HIV/AIDS, STDs/STIs, Tuberculosis and Mental Health. Speakers were invited from Bir Men-Tsee-Khang, Bir Tibetan Primary Health center, Delek Hospital and other subject experts in Community health and Buddhist Studies from Dharamsala.
Students actively participated in the session by asking questions and closely listening to the speakers. The 2-day workshop was wrapped up with a team exercise and a skit presentation by the students recapitulating of all the topics they learned in the past two days.
One participant said, “This is the first time for me to attend a workshop and I really enjoyed and learned a lot from it”. The
Department hopes that the knowledge learned by the participants in the two days will benefit them and affect positive changes in the community at large.
