Health Department’s staff during Free Medical Camp

Bodhgaya: As massive crowd of devotees thronged at Bodhgaya to attend His Holiness the Dalai Lama’s teachings, the Department of Health, CTA, organised a Free Medical Camp to provide basic preventive and promotive healthcare service within the teaching vicinity at Bodhgaya from 25 December 2022 to 3 January 2023.

The health care team comprises the department’s administrative staff, accompanied by doctors, paramedical staff, and nurses from various health facilities affiliated with the department. The ten-day camp offered free medical consultations, examinations, treatment, medicines, and physiotherapy. And within these days, a total of 4,754 individuals sought the treatments during the camp.

Keeping Covid in check, the Health Department issued several directives to control and prevent the possible spread of the disease by setting thermal screening, distributing free face masks, and disseminating key messages on COVID-Appropriate Behavior (CAP) through banners/posters and loudspeakers. In total, 60,000 face masks have been distributed to promote adherence to masking and prevent disease transmission among the public.

The successful completion of the free medical camp was made possible with the kind support from HHDLCT, The Tibet Fund and German Aids.
