The department of health, CTA is organizing the third regional adolescent health workshop, at Sed-Gyued Institute of Buddhist studies, Salugara for the teachers of Tibetan schools in North east and Nepal region in Salugara from 18th-20th April 2018. A total of 32 teachers and nurses from various schools under Sambhota Tibetan Schools Society, CTSA and Snow Lion Foundation in Nepal are participating in the workshop.
This workshop funder by USAID aims to introduce the teachers to changes and challenges faced by the adolescents and involves lectures, group activities on managing emotional and behavioral problems in adolescent through life skills.
Earlier similar workshop in collaboration with Expression India Association was organized in South India and North India for selected school teachers of those regions. This will be followed by a training for trainers for selected 10 counsellors and teachers in Delhi Expression India center in May 2018. Currently, a pictorial booklet is also being illustrated as part of the program.
After the completion of the workshop and formulation of guidelines, Department of health will integrate adolescent health program under RMNCHA program and implement the program in all the Tibetan schools in India and Nepal in collaboration with DOE. A pilot will be first carried out in selected 10 schools.
