Health Department Conducts Hepatitis screening and vaccination campaign at Ravangla

Dharamshala: The Department of Health of the Central Tibetan Administration launched a free Hepatitis B and C screening and Vaccination campaign at the Ravangla Tibetan settlement on 26th May 2023 under the guidance and support of the settlement Office.

The campaign will cover the population residing in the settlement and will also cover monasteries and Nunnery under the settlement office.

After the screening program, those with a negative result will be given complete free doses of hepatitis vaccination. Those found positive will have to undergo baseline tests to understand the severity of the infections. A total of 353 population in the settlement have been covered so far under the campaign. 

Department of Health is also conducting free annual and Biannual follow-up tests for the patients and a minimum of 50% support is also provided on the Medication cost under the program. 

The campaign is funded by the United States Department of State, Bureau of Population, Refugees and Migration (PRM, US).
