First leg of EMC workshop began with Miao

The Every mother and child care workshop (EMC) scheduled at North eastern Tibetan settlements under the FAA (Fixed Amount Award) began with Miao today, on 21st April, 2026, with a total of 40 attendees. The program included sessions led by several resource persons. Dr. Tenzin Gyaltsen, the settlement doctor, led a session on prenatal and postnatal care and Dr. Tenzin Phagdol presented a session on newborn care. Mr. Jamyang Gyaltsen of Manjushree led an engaging presentation on early reading in children, as well as the advantages of free play and screen management. The session was a success as a result of each participant’s active participation and engagement. Following the sessions, all attendees were served lunch. Subsequently, nutritional supplements were also distributed to the earmarked mothers. The next EMC workshop is scheduled at Tezu Tibetan Settlement. The program is funded by the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of South and Central Asian Affairs (USDOS, SCA).
