Bylakuppe: The Department of Health, CTA has organised a 10-day orientation course on Allopathy Medicine for Sowa-Rigpa doctors at Bylakuppe settlement from 3–14 July 2023. A total of 23 medical doctors and healthcare professionals from Department of Health, JSS Medical College and Hospital have been invited as resource persons to speak on basic anatomy, physiology, various systems of body and its disorders, common NCDs, psychiatric disorders, types of vitamins, immunisations and scientific writings. A total of 10 practical sessions on hospital management, medical lab investigations, X-Ray, PET, CT, MRI, ECG, USG and other reports, basic life saving course and other medical emergencies were also introduced.
As part of the course, participants were able to visit JSS Hospital as an exposure trip to all the different departments in the hospital. During the course, clinical doctors got the opportunity to interact with senior doctors, professors, pharmacists and Phd students and exchanged their knowledge and practice. This 10-day course was organised under the Integration programme of Department of Health and fully funded by the USAID through Tibet Fund. A total of 13 clinical doctors from various Sowa-Rigpa institutions like Men Tsee Khang, Chagpori, CIHTS Varanasi and Bumzhi medical practitioners have participated in the course.
