Department of Health, CTA observed World Hepatitis day on 28 July 2017. A local program in Dharamsala was held at TCV day school, McLeodGanj 3:30pm onwards.
The event started with an opening speech by the chief guest Dr. Tsewang Tamdin from Men-Tsee-Khang. It was then followed by a dhort Play by Tibet Theatre on the theme of Viral Hepatitis.
The local public were later engaged in fun educational activities like Open Quizzes with simple prize distributions and locating liver’s position in human body cutout. A photo booth labelled “Imagine a world without Hepatitis” and “I am making it happen” was also installed. There was a huge public turnout and the event was successful.
Events and awareness programs were also held in Tibetan School’s and refugee settlements across India. Students participated in Poster making competition and sport activities.
A panel discussion on Hepatitis by Dr. Lobsang Tsering and Dr. Rigzin Sangmo, head of the R&D Department Men-Tsee-Khang was also organized and broadcasted via Tibet TV.
