Dharamshala: The Department of Health, CTA, conducted a three-day HIV training for doctors and nurses at Mysore-based Asha Kirana Hospital from 25 – 27 July 2023.
A total of 16 nurses and 2 Tibetan medicine doctors from Men-tsee-khang attended the training. Topics covered during the training were Pre-test and Post-test counselling, control and universal precautions in Hospital settings, Paediatric and Adolescent HIV, HIV and TB, Social service Schemes, and HIV and STIs.
The main objectives behind this training are to refresh and enrich the participants’ knowledge of HIV/AIDS and its treatment and to equip medical staff with skills in counselling and proper handling of HIV/AIDS patients. Thus, improving the quality of health services for patients.
