On November 4, 2026, the second meeting of the Health Advisory Committee was convened under the chairmanship of the Secretary of the Department of Health to review and discuss the first draft of the Health Policy for Tibetans in Exile.

Earlier, during the 8th Tibetan Health Review Meeting held over two days on August 27 and 28, 2026, the governing body of the Tibetan Voluntary Health Association (TVHA) met under the chairmanship of the Honourable Kalon (Minister) of Health. At that time, a resolution was passed to establish an eight-member Health Advisory Committee to spearhead the formulation of a health policy for Tibetans in exile.

Subsequently, during the first meeting of the Health Advisory Committee on September 28, 2026, a five-member Health Policy Drafting Committee was appointed in accordance with the resolution. Through diligent efforts, the drafting committee has now successfully completed the first draft of the health policy.

During the current meeting, the first draft of the policy was presented to all members of the Health Advisory Committee, followed by detailed discussions on its various themes and specific contents. Based on the suggestions and guidance provided by the participants regarding the policy’s content and structural components, in-depth deliberations were held on how to further review and improve the draft.
