Active TB screening across Tibetan schools in Doon valley.

Between June 16 and July 23, 2026, TPHC Dekyiling screened around 2,238 students across seven regional schools for Tuberculosis. The initiative covered 1,141 boys and 1,097 girls, with school staff providing full cooperation throughout the process. Clinical triaging identified 207 students with symptoms who underwent further testing. Diagnostic procedures included Chest X-rays,  AFB tests, CYTB tests, and GeneXpert tests. All students tested negative for active TB, and those with symptoms received appropriate medical advice. The initiative was aimed to achieve early detection and improved health awareness on TB. This initiative was supported through the generous funding of the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of South and Central Asian Affairs (USDOS/SCA).
