Mr. Tenzin Geyche Tethong, born in Lhasa in 1943, is a distinguished Tibetan public servant who devoted several decades of his life to the service of His Holiness the Dalai Lama and the Tibetan people. He joined the Tibetan administration in the early 1960s and subsequently served in the Private Office of His Holiness the Dalai Lama for more than four decades, including as his private secretary.
He also made significant contributions to the Central Tibetan Administration, serving as Kalön for Information and Publicity, Kalön for Education and Kalön for Health (1st December 1983-19th September 1987). His service in these key portfolios contributed to strengthening public information, advancing the Tibetan education system, and supporting the development of health services for Tibetans in exile.
A founding executive of the Tibetan Youth Congress, he played an important role in mobilising and empowering the younger generation of Tibetans. His long association with His Holiness the Dalai Lama and his extensive service to the Tibetan administration reflect a life marked by dedication, discretion, and steadfast commitment to the Tibetan people and their cause.
