Mrs. Kelsang Yangkyi Takla was a distinguished Tibetan public servant who devoted several decades to the service of the Tibetan people and the Central Tibetan Administration. She began her government service in the early 1980s and served as Secretary of the Department of Health from 1983 to 1989, contributing to the administration and development of Tibetan health services.
She subsequently served in senior administrative and diplomatic capacities, including as International Relations Secretary from 2000 to 2001. In 2006, she was appointed Kalön of the Central Tibetan Administration and later served as Kalön for Information and International Relations and Health Kalön (26th May 2007-28th November 2007), representing and advancing the Tibetan cause internationally.
Through her long and dedicated public service, Kelsang Yangkyi Takla made valuable contributions to the development of Tibetan health administration, government service, and international relations. Her career reflects a steadfast commitment to the welfare of the Tibetan people and the strengthening of the institutions of the Central Tibetan Administration.
