Mr. Paljor Tsering Chope is a distinguished Tibetan public servant who devoted more than three decades to the service of the Central Tibetan Administration and the Tibetan people. He joined the CTA in 1973 and subsequently served in various capacities, including senior positions in the Department of Education and as the Representative of His Holiness the Dalai Lama in Nepal, Eastern Europe, Australia, and East Asia. He retired from regular government service in 2007.
In November 2007, he was appointed Kalön for Health in the 13th Kashag from 29th November 2007 and served until 8th August 2011. During his tenure, he contributed to strengthening Tibetan health services and advancing the institutional development of Tibetan medicine. He also supported the work of the Central Council of Tibetan Medicine, emphasising the preservation, standardisation, and promotion of the Sowa-Rigpa medical tradition.
His long and distinguished career reflects a steadfast commitment to public service, international representation, and the health and welfare of the Tibetan community.
