His Eminence the 11^th Kirti Rinpoche Lobsang Tenzin Jigme Yeshe Gyamtso was born in 1942 in Thewo Takmoe Gang, Amdo, Tibet, and was recognised as the reincarnation of the 10th Kirti Rinpoche. Following his escape to India in 1959, he pursued both traditional Buddhist studies and modern Tibetan education, eventually attaining the distinguished Geshe Lharampa degree.

Kirti Rinpoche made significant contributions to the Tibetan Government in Exile through his service in the Office of His Holiness the Dalai Lama, the Political Committee, the Constitution Re-drafting Committee, and the Public Service Commission. In 1997, he was appointed Kalön of the Department of Health from 2^nd April 1997 to 7^th April 1997 and Department of Religion and Culture, serving until March 1999.

Beyond his government service, he played an important role in preserving Tibetan Buddhist education and culture. In 1992, he re-established Kirti Jepa Dratsang (Institute of Higher Tibetan Studies) in Dharamsala, contributing significantly to the continuation of monastic education and scholarship in exile. His lifelong service reflects a deep commitment to the preservation of Tibetan religion, culture, education, and the welfare of the Tibetan people.
