Dharamsala: Under the Mother and Child Health (MCH) desk, the department of health conducted screening of Anemia in three schools. It is a condition in which the blood does not have enough healthy red blood cells. The screening was conducted for 148, 204, 61 girls above thirteen years of age respectively in TCV Gopalpur, TCV Upper and Lower Dharamsala. Since the girls in this age group are more vulnerable to the condition with the loss of blood due to their monthly menstrual cycle, the MCH desk focused on this particular age group of girls for the screening.

Also with the cooperation and felicitation by the respective schools, apart from the screening, health awareness talk was given on Anemia, Menstrual Hygiene and effects of Substance Abuse to students in adolescence by the concerned staff Kelsang Choedon and Tenzin Chomphel.
