Kollegal Dhondenling: Health Kalon (Minister) Pema Tso concluded her programme in Mundgod Tibetan Settlement on 31 October and arrived at Kollegal Dhondenling Tibetan Settlement on the morning of 1 November 2026.
Upon her arrival, she was warmly welcomed by the Settlement Officer, clinic administrators, the Secretary of the Local Tibetan Assembly, the President of the Regional Tibetan Freedom Movement, the Chairperson of the Cooperative Society, representatives of non-governmental organisations, chief camp leaders, camp leaders from the 22 villages, and staff members of the clinic, staff of the Settlement Office and the Cooperative Society.
In the afternoon, Health Kalon Pema Tso visited the settlement’s Gyalwai Phodrang (the residence of His Holiness the Dalai Lama), Dzogchen Orgyen Samten Choling Monastery, Palri Gon Thubten Samdrub Chokhor Ling, Tashi Dargyeling Monastery, Taksham Ogyen Samten Choling Monastery, Tanak Monastery, Drikung Kagyu Monastery, Lama Cheno and other monasteries in the settlement.
During the visits, she held discussions with the abbots and lamas of the respective monasteries on the Department of Health’s ongoing projects. She also expressed her appreciation for the monasteries’ religious services to the local community, including Buddhist teachings and religious rituals.
During her visit to Palri Gon Thubten Samdrub Chokhor Ling, Kalon inspected the ongoing construction of a new water tank. She advised that, once the project is completed, details of the year the tank was built, the year it was renovated, and the dates of cleaning should be displayed on the tank. She explained that maintaining these records would help preserve the water tank maintenance history and ensure that the information remains accessible even when abbots and Settlement officers change in the future.
