Dharamsala, 9 September 2026: Health Kalon paid an official visit to the Dharamsala Tibetan Settlement Office, where she was warmly welcomed by the Settlement Officer and staff members. The primary purpose of the visit was to assess the well-being of vulnerable individuals residing in the area. During her visit, Health Kalon met with several elderly residents and nuns, including solo agers. Some were reported to be living with health conditions such as hypertension and hepatitis B, while others were facing mental health challenges or living with physical disabilities.

Health Kalon also visited the Dharamsala Settlement Office, where the Settlement Officer briefed her on the settlement’s past activities and future plans. During the visit, handmade products and handicrafts produced by the handicraft unit under the Settlement Office’s supervision were showcased. The Settlement Office further informed her of plans to procure additional machinery to enhance production efficiency and improve both the quality and quantity of the products.

Commending the Settlement Officer and staff for their dedication and commitment, Health Kalon noted that the settlement’s progress and achievements were the result of strong teamwork and close cooperation among all staff members. She emphasized the importance of maintaining effective coordination and regular engagement with local officials to ensure the successful implementation of future initiatives.

Health Kalon also shared the Kashag’s future plans and stressed that sustained efforts must be made over the next five years to further strengthen program implementation and ensure that vulnerable and destitute individuals receive care and support they need. She underscored that while it may not always be possible to fulfill every expectation, it is essential to focus on addressing genuine needs and providing meaningful assistance where it is most required.
