From 3–12 June 2026, the OpenMRS system was successfully deployed at Sera Mey Hospital. Previously reliant on manual record-keeping, the hospital now benefits from a digital health record system that enables efficient management of patient information, improved data handling, enhanced patient tracking, streamlined clinical workflows, and timely report generation to support better healthcare delivery.
During the same period, a monitoring visit was conducted at four southern hospitals already using OpenMRS. The team assessed system utilization, gathered user feedback, strengthened staff capacity, identified challenges, and addressed technical and operational issues to ensure more effective and sustained use of the platform.
