On 17 May, Tibetan settlements across India marked World Hypertension Day with widespread awareness activities led by the Health Department. Through hospitals and health centres, communities participated in screenings, marathons, games, BP monitoring sessions, and talks highlighting the risks of hypertension, a condition affecting 1 in 3 adults globally. Supported by the TESC program, the initiative saw strong participation across age groups, promoting healthier lifestyles and regular blood pressure monitoring. The community is urged to take action—stay active, eat healthy, check blood pressure regularly, and seek timely medical advice to prevent hypertension and its complications.
