The pre-service training held at TPHC Dekyiling, Dehradun from 13th to 30th April 2026 was aimed to equip newly recruited nurses from multiple regions with essential clinical knowledge, practical skills, and orientation to healthcare systems and TVHA guidelines. The program emphasized clinical competency, infection control, emergency response (including CPR), communication, ethics, and data management using DHIS2, along with training in key health programs such as RMNCHA, TB, Hepatitis, Mental Health, Immunization, and Elder Care. Participants received hands-on experience through outreach visits, demonstrations, and data entry practice, guided by experienced professionals using interactive methods. Pre- and post-assessments showed improved confidence, decision-making, and readiness for independent responsibilities, ultimately strengthening nurses’ capacity to deliver quality, compassionate, and evidence-based healthcare, particularly in remote areas.
