Health Kalon Attends 6th Annual Tawang Yatra

Health Kalon Choekyong Wangchuk attended the 6th Tawang Yatra organised by Bharat Tibet Sahyog Manch on 21 November 2017. Earlier, the organizing committee had invited CTA president Dr Lobsang Sangay but due to his prior commitment to North America visit, Health Kalon attended the function.

This year annual Tawang Yatra was dedicated to Birth Centenary celebration of Padma Bhushan 19th Bakula Rinpoche (1917-2017) and National Integration of Trans-Himalayas.

The other prominent figures who attended the Yatra were Sh. Tamiyo Taga , Honourable Minister for power and Industries ( Govt. of Arunachal Pardesh ) and Shri Indresh, Sangrakshak BTSM.

The Yatra began with peace march from Tawang Monastery to Kalawangpo hall to dedicate the stability in trans-Himalayan region.

The main event began with introductory speech from Mr Maling Gompo, President of   BTSM (Arunachal chapter) followed by keynote speech from Health Kalon. He thanked the organizing committee on behalf of Central Tibetan Administration, Dhramsala for inviting him in this Yatra. During the Yatra, he also visited Bomla and Dirang.

During his two day stay in Tawang, he also visited local monasteries and new community hall of local Tibetan freedom movement. On his way back to Guwahati, Health Kalon also visited Tenzingang and Bomdila to meet the Tibetan communities residing in these two settlements. From Guwahati, he will be travelling to Tibetan settlements in Miao, Tuting and Tezu.
