Department of Health Holds Training on New Integrated Health Information System.

Department of Health, CTA concluded its 4-day workshop on the New Integrated Health Information System on August 4, 2017 at Hotel Tibet, McLeod Ganj, Dharamsala. The workshop was attended by ­­­ 24 nurses from 13 settlements across India.

From 1st August to 2nd August, training on the new Health Information System called DHIS 2 (District Health information System 2) customized for Tibetan Health System was given to the participants. The Intensive training was led by HISP team who developed the system and included thorough feedback session from the participants. The next 2 day of the training session was led by Dr. Lobsang Tsering on another software tool called Epi Info 7 which will be primarily used to collect epidemiological data related to Tuberculosis, Immunization and Annual Household listing.

In addition to DHIS2, Department of Health, CTA would also implement Open MRS (Medical recording system) in the DOHe run Hospitals across India after its successful piloting in Tibetan health centre Bir and DVT hospital, Kollegal in the coming months.

Joint Secretary of DOHe JampaPhuntsok in his opening talk said “This new project toward strengthening our Health Information is a foundation for implementing the department’s new projects and refining the existing ones.”
